Lightning Pick
Along with classic light module-based systems, Lightning Pick offers image projection technology that expands the possibilities of picking, kitting, sorting and assembly applications.
The Lightning Pick Projection Picking System utilizes a laser projector which can display information such as picks or puts, product details, precautions, instructions and even photos or video.
Projection picking allows for error correction before the pick is made – it can notify an employee that they are about to pick from an incorrect location. When their hand reaches into an incorrect area, LiDAR sensing can give feedback by changing the light to red and having a buzzer or alarm sound.
Lightning Pick propels production velocity by projecting text, images and video onto workstations. Displaying the correct product or part locations and quantities along with other visual instructions help employees execute material handling tasks with higher efficiency.
Projector-based picking systems offer employees easy-to-follow instructions for complicated manufacturing and assembly steps. 3PLs can also benefit from applications where minimizing fixed cubbies and hardware allows for greater flexibility. Projection picking is good for high value item picking and can show errors for mis-picked items.
Projection Picking is ideally combined with other picking technologies. Displaying locations on an AMR and sensing the picks is an example. The displayed locations can change on the fly, as well as the sensing locations.
